Design and development of the Farm Accounts website

Farm Accounts is a well established accountants based in Newton Abbot, South Devon. They provide a full accountancy and tax services to clients who are farmers or have other rural businesses or property.

Farm Accounts invited us to re-design their website to give the site a more contemporary, fresh look.

The client already had a logo and sense of corporate style as they had previous created a brochure and stationery containing a bold green header and a couple of images. We agreed that this sense of style should be carried across from their current literature onto the website.

Design

We created two website visuals for the client as we felt either would work with the website content. Both designs have a ‘call to action’ banner on each page to encourage users to get in contact; and the clients contact details are clearly visible as well.

Visual 1

This visual uses the tractor image as a large and dramatic photo. The design is particularly clean, uncluttered and bold.

Visual 2

This visual is a little more intricate using shadows and gradients to add depth to the design.

The client preferred visual 1 and we set to work building the site.

The Build

As the Farm Accounts website won’t be updated frequently we built a static website rather than integrating a CMS. Once the site was built we felt the header image was a little too deep and made this shallower so more content would load without users having to scroll too far down the website.

Charles Hammond from Farm Accounts commented; “I am very pleased with the site you have made for us, thank you.”
