Photo’s of our trip to Amsterdam

Amsterdam photograph

We were lucky enough to enjoy a short trip to Amsterdam recently. We were taken back by the friendly people and outstanding sights and buildings. Wandering around the small side streets and Canals you can’t help but get inspired. If you haven’t been to Amsterdam before, we would both certainly recommend it.

We thought we’d share a brief selection of our photographs with you.

We thoroughly enjoyed Amsterdam and are looking forward to returning as soon as we can. Has anyone already been to Amsterdam? If so what was your impression?

  • Wonderful photos!!
I absolutely love Amsterdam. I’ve lived there for almost a month (in total), have fabulous friends there who showed me most of the Netherlands. I used to tell them that if not for the weather Amsterdam would’ve been the best city to live in the world 😉

Did you get a chance to visit the museums there?

  • Lu says:

I agree about the weather, we were quite lucky and got a couple of days of sun! Wow, so you really know Amsterdam well.

We did visit the Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank House. Other than that we spent loads of time ‘wondering the streets’ as it were! We loved the Jordaan district particularly, but equally enjoyed Leidseplein, Vondel Park and of course Dam square and the Nine Streets!

Can’t wait to return and explore further, is there somewhere you think we particularly missed on our trip?

  • Gorgeous photos.

Love those with red in them for some reason – my favourite being the street light.

  • Lu says:

Amanda – Glad you like the images!

I particularly like the image of the building with the red shutters it really was quite striking. Can’t wait to go back and get some more shots!

  • I still remember how striking that building with the red shutters looked when I first saw it in Amsterdam.

Next time you go to Amsterdam I do recommend you to visit the Rijksmuseum. And yes, just walking or riding a bike around the city is so enjoyable and memorable.

I love the transport system there, it’s very fast and convenient and everything arrives right on time, not a second later or earlier. You could visit different cities in one day. I liked visiting Rotterdam, it’s so different from Amsterdam, very modern. And I bet you’d love to visit Madurodam, a miniature Holland in the heart of Den Hague: http://www.madurodam.nl/ 😉

I did love all the beautiful warehouse buildings with their bold shutters! We wanted to visit the Rijksmuseum, but we just ran out of time! That is definitely on our list for our next visit. I couldn’t agree more about the transport system so easy to use and everyone we met was so helpful and friendly.

I’ll add Rotterdam and a visit to Madurodam to the list for next time! Thanks for taking the time to give us your recommendations!
