Back in February I posted about my new hobby – photography. I set up a flickr account and for the past 4 months I’ve been snapping away at anything thats taken my fancy! I’ve posted a few of my favourite shots below:

As you can see the images are really quite varied in subject matter and style. At the moment I’m finding inspiration everywhere, and have my camera permanently secured to my hip!

There are so many fantastic Flickr groups and I’m a frequent visitor to the following:

Flowerotica
Lovely and Amazing Vintage Inspired
Retro and Vintage Photography
Retro Modern Architecture and Design
1970’s architecture and design

I’m eager for your thoughts, what do you think of my images so far? Have you any photography tips or advice? Are there any Flickr groups that you frequently visit and would recommend?

Very pretty stuff. Well done. The colours are marvelous and I am wondering what camera you are using since the shots have really good depth (probably also to do with lenses too).

  • Brooke says:

Good work! Like Jason, I love the colors.

I’m impressed that you keep your camera with you at all times. I really should start doing that myself!

  • Very nice, especially like the fire buckets, the beach breakers in foreground and the water fall.

  • Lu says:

    Hi Jason – Thanks! I am using a Canon 450D with a 18-55mm lens.

Hi Brooke – Thanks I chose some very colourful subject matter! I am really building some serious shoulder muscles as well!

Hi Amanda – I had a lot of fun with the Fire buckets (Steve had to drag me away!), I was really pleased when I found them.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

Nice photography, the water coming out of the pipe is amazing I really love that one.

  • Lu says:

    Hi Danny,

Thanks, that one was a little tricky as I needed to capture as much light as possible, but I think it looks OK.

    Thanks for stopping by!
