Design and development of Amber Human Capital Alignment website

Amber Human Capital Alignment is an HR practice geared at helping businesses and leaders of businesses to understand and to implement the right people practices required to get the best out of their organisation.

The client required a professional and easy to use website acting as a sales tool for potential clients to gather further information about the company.

Before pen hit the paper we knew the colour scheme would reflect the name of the company, so a palette of warm autumnal colours were discussed. The client felt this would be a great idea as it takes inspiration from the company name and the colours would be quite distinct and unique within the market place.

As always we begin by designing a wireframe of the website. We needed to ensure that the contact details were in a prominent position and the contact form (which was to appear on every page) had plenty of room to expand if users enlarged the copy on their screens.

Once the wireframe was signed off and market research was complete we fired up the Macs and started designing! With the colour scheme and theme already in place it wasn’t difficult to find an autumnal themed header image utilising a warm amber colour palette. We wanted the leaves to look as if they were coming out from the site so added a shadow behind the image to add a little depth. The yellow bands in the header and footer of the site allow the design to fill the screen and therefore look good on either a small or very large screen (it looks great on my new 27″ iMac – just saying).

We were most surprised when the client signed off the visual there and then with no amends so we quickly got cracking with the build of the site. The client didn’t envisage the site would require regular updates so we built it without a content management system. The build went smoothly and as soon as we were ready the site went live! Sharon Black from Amber commented ‘Thank you so much for all your hard work – the site looks great!”

We are pleased with the Amber website design. We feel the colour scheme is bold for the market place and quite distinct, yet refers back to the company name nicely.
